Our CEO Paul Newfield and New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon will be jointly hosting an investment roundtable in South Korea this week. Paul is travelling with the senior business delegation, led by Rt Hon Christopher Luxon, which is focused on reinvigorating political relationships and improving investment flow between the two countries.
The Prime Minister said: “I am excited to be travelling with a delegation of New Zealand business leaders who share my ambition to strengthen our global investment connections.
“This mission is an incredible opportunity to deepen our engagement and showcase our world-class capability in areas like renewable energy and infrastructure.”
Morrison has been growing its presence across Asia. Gurīn Energy, a pan-Asia renewable energy development business established by Infratil Limited, and managed by Morrison, has built up a development pipeline of 7 GW. Headquartered in Singapore, the platform established its Korea office in early 2022.
Paul said: “We’re actively expanding our presence in Asia and are excited to make a long-term and sustainable contribution to South Korea’s significant plans to invest in infrastructure and renewable energy.
“Morrison was one of the world’s first movers into private infrastructure investment and renewable energy. Bringing over three decades of experience and global expertise, we partner with local teams to develop and operate high quality renewable energy portfolios.
“Trade delegations provide an excellent opportunity to share the Morrison story and build business connections in a market with many billions of dollars of investment potential.
“Being part of the delegation gives New Zealand businesses access to senior decision-makers and industry participants where we can build enduring partnerships.”
This is the third Prime Ministerial business delegation that Paul has joined this year, having been part of the recent visits to Japan in June, and Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines in April.
