Morrison Strengthens Leadership Team with Appointment of Alexandra Badenoch as Partner

Seasoned Executive with Significant Transformation, Talent Management, and Governance Experience Joins Morrison as Firm Further Expands Global Presence and Deepens Asset Management Capability

Morrison today announces that Alexandra Badenoch has joined the Morrison Partnership, effective immediately. In her new role, Ms Badenoch will oversee talent development within the Morrison team and will also apply her operational effectiveness and business transformation skills to the firm’s investment portfolio.

Ms Badenoch most recently served as Group Executive - Transformation, Communication and People at Telstra and was responsible for leading Telstra’s overall T22 transformation strategy on behalf of the CEO and Board to ensure the successful delivery of a multi-year program.  She brings an outstanding track record of delivery and depth of experience in business transformation, organisational efficiency, human capital and corporate affairs to Morrison. Throughout her career, she has gained significant sector expertise across areas including technology, telecommunications, supply chain and logistics.

Paul Newfield, Partner and CEO of Morrison said, “We’re thrilled to welcome Alex, a highly respected and strategically minded executive to our Partnership. Our business is fundamentally a people business. The infrastructure businesses we invest in are also people businesses and it’s our job to guide them through phases of significant organisational change and growth. Alex is widely recognized as an industry leader in talent development and change management. Her skills will be invaluable to Morrison, our clients and our portfolio companies.”

Ms Badenoch said, “As I embark on the next chapter of my career, I am proud to join Morrison, an organisation for which I have huge admiration and respect. The assets Morrison invests in on behalf of its clients’ span industries, locations and size, and I’m excited to support the management of this exceptional portfolio in my new role. An important aspect of my role will also be building the global Morrison team while maintaining the firm’s unique culture.”

Ms Badenoch joins Morrison following the appointment of Steven Fitzgerald to Lead Operating Partner and Rachel Drew to Global Head of Asset Management. The appointment of Ms Badenoch demonstrates Morrison’s ongoing commitment to investing in operational asset management expertise as the firm continues to scale.

Mr. Newfield added, “Morrison’s track record of 18% p.a. net returns over three decades has been driven by a unique investment philosophy and a differentiated approach to asset management. We believe we execute superior investments and are better stewards of assets when we bring professionals with different strengths and diverse backgrounds together into a single team in search of investment truth. Alex will bring her own valuable, differentiated perspective to our investment management activity and will also help us build a global team that maintains this culture as we grow.”

Prior to her recent role at Telstra, Ms Badenoch was the Director of Human Resources, Corporate Affairs and Customer for Asciano Limited, where she was responsible for recruitment, remuneration, performance management, and leadership and cultural development. Previously, she held several executive roles with Telstra, Novell Inc. and Coles Myer. Ms Badenoch is currently a Non-Executive Director with portfolio companies OneNZ and Viscount Reuse, and holds an Advisory Board role with Gloat.
