Morrison Names Seasoned Infrastructure Investor Brendan Scollans as Head of North America Investment

Appointment strengthens Morrison’s leadership and investment capabilities in the key US market

Morrison, a leading global infrastructure investment manager with more than US$30 billion in assets under management, today announced the appointment of Brendan Scollans as Head of North America Investment, effective immediately. In this role, Mr. Scollans will lead Morrison’s North American investment activity, working closely with teams across the firm’s global platform to advance its disciplined, long-term approach to infrastructure investing. He is based in New York and will report to William Smales, Morrison’s Chief Investment Officer. Morrison’s former Head of North America Investment, Perry Offutt, recently took on a role as the firm’s global Head of Capital Formation.

Mr. Scollans brings three decades of experience across North America and international markets, with a proven track record of originating, executing and managing infrastructure investments, as well as building and leading high-performing teams. Previously, Mr. Scollans worked at GI Partners, serving as Co-Head of the firm’s Data Infrastructure business as well as a member of its Investment Committees.  Before that, he was a Partner at EQT, where he co-led its Mid-Market US Fund, served on the fund’s Investment Committee, and helped scale the firm’s broader North American presence. Earlier in his career, he was a Partner and founding member of Avista Capital Partners, a DLJ Merchant Banking Partners spinout, where he led the data infrastructure efforts and was a member of their Investment Committees.

Paul Newfield, Chief Executive Officer at Morrison, said, “Brendan’s appointment is an important milestone in Morrison’s continued development of our North American platform. Brendan’s expertise investing in data and infrastructure projects globally and across cycles, entrepreneurial mindset, and strong cultural alignment make him a natural fit as we continue to grow our North American presence while operating as one integrated, global team.”

William Smales, Partner and Chief Investment Officer at Morrison, added, “We’re excited to have a leader of Brendan’s caliber join Morrison at this exciting time in our evolution. The foundation of Morrison’s long-term success – spanning nearly four decades – is based on our team’s commitment to excellence, drive to deliver value to our investors, and collaboration. Brendan brings not only significant investment expertise, but also a genuine passion for developing teams and mentoring talent. He will play a critical role in shaping our growing New York-based investment team and supporting the next phase of our North American expansion.”

Brendan Scollans added, “I have long admired Morrison’s differentiated investment approach, global platform, and track record. I am eager to get started. With significant momentum across North America, a global platform and collaborative culture – I could not be more excited. I look forward to helping grow the business, develop the team to their full potential and deliver risk-adjusted performance for our partners.”
