Infratil commits to development of renewables in Asia

Infratil Limited today announced an investment in Gurīn Energy, an Asian renewable energy development platform.

Headquartered in Singapore, Gurīn Energy will focus on greenfield renewable projects across Asia, supported by US$233m funding from Infratil.

Infratil CEO Jason Boyes said, “The breadth of the Asian market allows us to diversify our risk profile, both from geographic and technology perspectives. Together with our US, European and New Zealand platforms, our investment in Gurīn Energy demonstrates our global commitment to sustainability and climate change and extends our ability to manufacture quality renewable energy assets to Asia."

This is the fourth renewable energy platform established by Infratil, following its investments in Australia (Tilt Renewables), the United States (Longroad Energy) and Europe (Galileo Green Energy).

Gurīn Energy will be led by Assaad W. Razzouk as CEO.  Mr Razzouk is a recognised leader in the Asian renewable energy market where he has a long-standing track record.
